Here are some tips that will be helpful while you are shopping for a new swimsuit. The current styles come and go as most fashion trends do. Swimsuits are designed in so many varieties that it is difficult to give an exact definition to the most popular terms. The following discussion will attempt to do just that.

Each year, the needs of the women charged with making sure that the clothing fits according to the physique are gotten more creative. Although it sounds like there is not much room to evolve, somehow women get the thought that this is the year to put on a swim wear that is creative, innovative yet not overly constricting. With the combination of gel and silk, women can wear a one-piece swimsuit that is not too busty and not too bottomsless.

As for the bikini, the designers seem to be getting more and more creative. This is good since it makes the market more diverse and offers women more choices. As for the other popular variation, the monokini has been introduced. What makes it Different?

The monokini is a two-piece (although it may be extremely difficult to create the entire torso in one piece) suit that has some important differences from a standard bikini. Nylon, spandex and mesh are some of the materials most often used along with possibly lycra, micro spandex and stretch. Because of the additional materials, the monokini generally has a somewhat looser fit. It is typically tighter at the legs and more loosely around the upper body.

Another trend is swim dresses. These are commonly known as bikini dresses. They are a different take on the old cut-out bathing suits and are basically one-piece suits that emphasize the silhouette of the woman’s physique. Unlike the old bikinis, the swim dress is generally shorter and does not cover the breasts (although it can reach the top of the chest). This is a different trend that has been markedly influenced by the film industry. It became very popular in the 80’s and had its height of fashion in the 90’s. With designers like Ralph Lauren, such dresses are very popular and have been a staple in the swim wear fashion industry.

In the past, very little in the realm of swimwear appeal to women had the legs and gels, but in the 21st century, the legs are still an important part of the visual design of the swimwear. In fact, many of the modern swimsuits are designed with the leggy glamour woman in mind. In the past, only the bikinis were named after the legs; and even then, they were only shapeless. Now there are quite a few swimsuits that actually accentuate the legs. These are the tankini, high cut leg and French cut leg.

In the early 21st Century, many fashion designers took the sexy swimwear to the next level by adding skirts to the mix. The skirts were originally created for the beach but have become an extremely popular choice for swimwear. Some are so flirty that they are able to make it from the beach to the swimming pool and back again. Wear skirts instead of more revealing bikinis. The coverage of the skirt makes it more appropriate to wear to the beach. Additionally, many women feel that they are much more comfortable wearing a skirt instead of a bikini.

In the near future, some designers are going to be bold and courageous enough to venture into unexplored territory by attempting to infuse couture dresses with a swimwear element. One example of this is by pairing a flowing feminine skirt with a halter top bikini. However, only a handful of would be brave enough to mix a bikini with a formal style suit. This is definitely another area that will be addressed in the near future.
